Warnings
The generic name of this medication is ibuprofen and the brand name is Advil Liqui-Gels. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or NSAID.
The active ingredient of this medication is solubilized ibuprofen.
Advil Liqui-Gels is manufactured by Wyeth Ayerst Pharmaceuticals.
It is primarily used in treating minor aches and pains caused by common cold, headaches, toothaches, back or muscle aches, menstrual cramps, or arthritis.
Common Uses:
This medication is used in the treatment of minor aches and pains caused by common cold, headache, toothache, back or muscle ache, menstrual cramps and/or arthritis.
Off Label Uses:
Used in the treatment of fever.
Side Effects:
Constipation
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Gas
Headache
Heartburn
Nausea
Stomach pain or upset
Cautions / Warnings:
Not advisable in patients with the following conditions:
If allergic to this medication or any of its ingredients.
If scheduled to undergo bypass heart surgery.
During pregnancy and pre-pregnancy.
Drug Interactions:
Anticoagulants like warfarin.
Probenecid
Cyclosporine
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors like enalapril or diuretics like furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide.
Aspirin
Corticosteroids like prednisone.
Serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) like fluoxetine.
