The generic name of this medication is ibuprofen and brand name is Advil and Motrin IB.

The active ingredient of this medication is ibuprofen 200 Mg.

Advil Tablets is manufactured by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

Mainly used in treating minor aches and pains caused by the common cold, headaches, toothaches, back or muscle aches, menstrual cramps or arthritis.

Common Uses:

This medication is used in treating minor aches and pains caused by the common cold, headaches, toothaches, back or muscle aches, menstrual cramps or arthritis

Off Label Uses:

The off label uses of this medication is that it may also be used to reduce fever.

Side Effects:
Constipation
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Gas
Headache
Heartburn
Nausea
Stomach pain or upset

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in patients with the following conditions:
If allergic to any ingredient in Advil.
If there has been a severe allergic reaction (severe rash, hives, trouble breathing, growths in the nose, dizziness) to aspirin or an NSAID (ibuprofen, celecoxib).
If patient has undergone or will be scheduled for bypass heart surgery.
During the last trimester of pregnancy.
Who have a history of swelling or fluid buildup, lupus, asthma;
Who have high blood pressure, blood disorders, bleeding or clotting problems, heart problems (eg, heart failure).

Drug Interactions:
Anticoagulants (warfarin), aspirin, corticosteroids (prednisone), heparin, or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as fluoxetine).
Probenecid.
Cyclosporine, lithium, methotrexate, or quinolones (ciprofloxacin).
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (enalapril) or diuretics (furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide).

08 Sep 2011	I could take any pain pills available if my pain is intense, however, i take Advil which gives me a relief for about 8 hours before taking another, if the pain persist.
