The generic name of this medication is Naproxen and brand name is Aleve.
The active ingredient of this medication is Naproxen Sodium.
It is mainly used to provide temporary relief from minor aches and pains.
Aleve is manufactured by Bayer AG, a German pharmaceutical company.
Common Uses:
This medication is used for temporary relief of minor aches and pains. These may include arthritis; muscle ache; backache; menstrual cramps; headache; and toothache.
Off Label Uses:
The off label use of this medication is reduction of fever.
Side Effects:
Constipation;
Diarrhea;
Dizziness;
Drowsiness;
Gas;
Headache;
Heartburn;
Nausea;
Stomach upset;
Stuffy nose.
Cautions / Warnings:
It is not recommended in people:
With allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients;
Patients that have recently undergone or will be undergoing bypass heart surgery.
It is not recommended in pregnant women or women planning on becoming pregnant and nursing mothers.

Aleve does wonders for pain. In my case it truly helps back pain and tendonitis in my left ankle on my peroneal tendon. The side effect I experience is a moderate to strong loss of libido. Have been on Aleve for 10 days and I have little urge and even less ability to perform even while on an occasional dose of Viagra. About 1 week after stopping Aleve, libido returns but needs to build up to return to normal.

I do like the Aleve liquid gels better than the regular Aleve. However, both seem to always work quickly and effectively when pain does arise anywhere within my body.
