The generic name of this medication is fexofenadine and brand names are Allegra, Allegra ODT.

Allegra is manufactured by Aventis.

The active ingredients of this medication are fexofenadine pseudoephedrine and hydrochloride.

It is primarily used in treating symptoms of seasonal allergies (hay fever) in both adults and children.

Common Uses:

This medication is used to treat symptoms of seasonal allergies (hay fever) in both adults and children.

Off Label Uses:

It is used in the treatment of providing relief from itchy skin and hives caused by a condition called chronic idiopathic urticaria in both adults and children.

Side Effects:
Diarrhea;
Drowsiness;
Feeling tired;
Headache;
Menstrual cramps;
Muscle or back pain;
Nausea;
Upset stomach.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in people that are:
Allergic to this medication or any of its ingredients;
Suffering from renal disease.
Not advisable in pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Drug Interactions:
Ketoconazole like Nizoral;
Erythromycin like E-Mycin; E.E.S.; Ery-Tab; Erythrocin.
