The generic name of this medication is zolpidem and the various brand names are Ambien; Ambien CR; and Edluar.

The active ingredient of this medication is zolpidem tartrate and the inactive ingredients are colloidal silicon dioxide; hypromellose; and lactose monohydrate.

Ambien CR is manufactured by Sanofi-Vventis.

It is primarily used in the treatment of insomnia.

06 Apr 2011 I get to sleep quickly and sleep more soundly now. I'm an RN and am on my feet for 12-hour shifts, so sleeping soundly when I can is very important.

16 Aug 2010 I took this pill just one time after my hysterectomy because I was having problems sleeping. One pill was all it took, but it took about two weeks to completely get it out of my system. I felt drowsy for weeks.
