Ambien is manufactured by Sanofi-Aventis.

The active ingredient of this medication is Zolpidem tartrate and inactive ingredients are hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and lactose.

It primarily used in the short-term treatment of insomnia (trouble falling asleep).

01 Feb 2013 After taking ambien for about 6 months for insomnia, it has started working less. I also have experienced a lot of sleep walking and eating after taking it.

06 Jan 2012 Ambien helped me a great deal with getting some much-needed sleep. My work shift time was 4am mon-thurs. Before taking Ambien, I would average about 1-4 hours of sleep a night, some times no sleep. With ambien, I was getting about 6-8 hours of sleep. I have noticed memory loss. I hate depending on any pill.
