The generic name of this medication is metaraminol and the brand name is Aramine.

The active ingredient of this medication is metaraminol bitartrate.

Primarily used to increase the systolic/diastolic blood and pulmonary pressure, and also increase cardiac output.

Common Uses:

This medication is used to increase the systolic/diastolic blood and pulmonary pressure, and also increase cardiac output.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Headache;
Dizziness;
Apprehension;
Nausea;
Sweating;
Abscess formation;
Tissue necrosis;
Sloughing at injection site.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended for following conditions:
Who are allergic to metaraminol bitartrate;
Who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant;
Who are suffering from renal diseases.

Drug Interactions:
Guanethidine;
MAO inhibitors, furazolidone, rauwolfia alkaloids, methyldopa;
Tricyclic antidepressants.
