Warnings
The generic name of this medication is mometasone inhalation and Brand Names are Asmanex Twisthaler 120 Dose, Asmanex Twisthaler 14 Dose, Asmanex Twisthaler 30 Dose, Asmanex Twisthaler 60 Dose.
The active ingredient of this medication is mometasone furoate.
Mometasone inhalation is used to prevent asthma attacks.
Common Uses:
Mometasone inhalation is used to prevent asthma attacks.
Off Label Uses:
None noted currently.
Side Effects:
Wheezing or breathing discomfort after using this medication;
Skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, muscle weakness;
Changes in the shape or location of body fat (especially in your arms, legs, face, neck, breasts, and waist); or
Worsening asthma symptoms.
Cautions / Warnings:
Not recommended for following conditions:
Who are allergic to it;
Who suffer from tuberculosis, untreated or active infections, herpes infection of the eye, eye disease (glaucoma), decreased adrenal gland function, osteoporosis;
Who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant.
Drug Interactions:
Ketoconazole (Nizoral).

I wonder if my use of Asmanex could be causing my gums to be raw and sore. I never had that problem prior to taking it and brush and floss religiously.

Asmamanex twisthaler improved my breathing drastically but it's not worth the money and side effects. I have headaches, sleeplessness, fatigue, abnormal/vivid dreams, and a dry mouth.

have not noticed any ill effects from drug. have only seen improvement in symptoms. As an athlete it is important that I not experience an attack while participating in a game/meet and asmanex has helped with that!

Before taking asmanex, I would experience sudden chest tightness fairly often, usually without physical activity involved. In my past and current experience with the drug, whenever I start taking it my asthma symptoms as described lessen greatly. Highly recommend to anyone having trouble with similar symptoms.
