The generic name of this medication is atomoxetine and brand name is Strattera.

The active ingredient of this medication is atomoxetine hydrochloride.

This medication is used in the treatment and management of ADHD or Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Common Uses:

This medication is used in the treatment of ADHD or Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Coughing;
Decreased appetite;
Dizziness;
Drowsiness;
Dry mouth;
Fatigue;
Flushing;
Headache;
Increased sweating;
Abdominal Discomfort;
Nausea;
Fatigue;
Insomnia;
Vomiting.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in patients with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients;
A history taking or have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (eg, phenelzine) within the last 14 days;
Cardiovascular conditions (eg, heart defect, heart failure), certain types of irregular heartbeat, severe blood vessel problems, or narrow-angle glaucoma.

It is also not recommended in pregnant women; women planning on becoming pregnant; and nursing mothers.

Drug Interactions:
MAOIs (eg, phenelzine);
Quinidine or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) (eg, fluoxetine, paroxetine);
Albuterol.
