Warnings
The generic and brand names of this medication is Lotensin.
The active ingredient of this medication is benazepril hydrochloride.
This medication is used in the treatment of high blood pressure in adults and children 7 to 17 years old. It is effective when used alone or in combination with thiazide diuretics.
Common Uses:
This medication is used in the treatment of high blood pressure in adults and children 7 to 17 years old. It is effective when used alone or in combination with thiazide diuretics.
Off Label Uses:
The off label uses of this medication - it also enhances blood flow throughout blood vessels.
Side Effects:
Cough
Dizziness
Headache
Cautions / Warnings:
Not recommended in patients with the following conditions:
If patient is sensitive to or has ever had an allergic reaction to Lotensin or other angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.
During pregnancy, pre-pregnancy.
If ther is poor kidney function.
Drug Interactions:
Diuretics such as furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide.
Lithium.
Potassium supplements.
Potassium-sparing diuretics such as amiloride and triamterene.

This drug is efficient against high blood pressure. I started this treatment almost 10 years ago. It has no side effect and it is a cheap drug.
