28 Jul 2018 Serc is more effective and gives more side effects than generics, essential life saving medication. I get vertigo if I miss a dose.

10 Sep 2017 I feel safe in my home although at times I can move about in a haze and off balance. I use a walking stick for outings once again I always seem to be in a cloudy haze and off. balance. Six months after a closure of an inner ear cavity prone to infection for 60years I experienced three violent vertigo attacks and was taken to hospital with extremely high blood pressure. Vertigo was diagnosed the second visit. Menieres the third visit and Betahistine prescribed. After another three months and bad side effects I had a MRI scan nothing seemed to be picked up and fluid was put down to the causes. I have been told I could come right eventually. I feel my age is against me for this to happen 78 years old and I am stuck with this awful sensation despite help from the drug. I lost my hearing in the operated ear and have bad hearing in my right ear I wear an aid daily sometimes give my ear a rest from it.

31 Jul 2015 I developed Menier's in my early sixties. It took a while to control so that my specialist put me on increasing amounts of Betahistine. At six to eight a day it was mostly controlled although I had break- out episodes that put me in hospital overnight. I was also prescribed medication to control fluid , in my head, I guess. These included indapamide and potassium. Buccanase or semitol was there for when I did have an episode. Now 6 years on, I can control the condition as long as I stick to the Betahistine medication. Any slips in dosage and I can feel it coming back. For me, this proves its efficacy.

29 Jul 2015 It is ridiculous how Drs tell you to take half the drug at night, so you will be trying to sleep while the drug is not trying to keep you alert and active. And being dopey in the day because you have not got enough betahistine in you during the day to get you past the threshold for it to be effective. Take most of it early in the day. It is pointless taking it after 3pm you wont get the best use of it. Most Drs are very ignorant in its use and wont prescribe even the minimum amount known to get the most benefit. Just keep taking one tablet every 2 hours until it works or the side effects are worse then the disease.
