I have been taking Buspar (Burspirone) (5mg) for 6 weeks. I take 1-1/2 tablets (7mg) twice a day. I immediately noticed a warm feeling when I first started but after a month or so I didn't notice it as much. I have PTSD and anxiety has been a real problem for many years. After 2 weeks I still felt noticeable anxiety and felt like I was wasting my time. However, I read that many others had experienced the same feelings so I continued taking it as directed. It was around the one month mark that I noticed a decrease in my anxiety and that I was sleeping better. I have previously had a real problem staying asleep all night and many nights I would wake up and couldn't go back to sleep for 2-3 hours. It was extremely frustrating. Now I sleep through the night and if I wake up I can go right back to sleep. I am overjoyed. My doctor plans to call me today to have a phone conference. I look forward to telling him that I am quite happy with Buspar and it is doing for me what it's purpose is intended.

VERY GOOD DRUG, BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT IT GIVES ME ALOT OF DROWSINESS

when i first started taking Buspar 2 years ago, it worked for me almost instantaneaously. i felt more in control, my crying spells subsided, etc. now, it seems to me that my stress level is raised due to being in school full time, and it just isnt working for me anymore.
