Common Uses:

This medication are used as contraception to prevent pregnancy.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body;
Sudden headache, confusion, problems with vision, speech, or balance;
Chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling;
A change in the pattern or severity of migraine headaches;
Nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended for following conditions:
Who are pregnant;
Who have a history of a stroke or blood clot;
Who have severe high blood pressure;
Who have a heart valve disorder;
who are allergic to this medication.

Drug Interactions:
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ascorbic acid (vitamin C);
An antibiotic;
Phenylbutazone (Azolid, Butazolidin);
St. John's wort.

I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen lo for most of the last several years. Side effects from that were little to none, and definitely tolerable. Cesia, however, has deprived me of any sex drive whatsoever. And even when I would become engaged in the activity with my husband, it wouldn't work... because I was completely dry. It is frustrating.
