About Clove
Description: The clove tree is small and evergreen and its flowers grow in bunches at the end of the branches. It has uses in Ayurvedic, Chinese and western herbology. Common Uses: In Chinese medicine, it is used for its warming properties, and commonly for digestive disorders, It is also used for impotence or vaginal discharge, for morning sicknessor for vomiting and diarrhea. In Ayurveda, cloves are considered warming and stimulating, and are used for treating kapha imbalances, such as congestion and digestive problems. The medicinal properties of cloves reside in the volatile oil. There are two constituents of clove oil - Caryophyllene and Eugenol. It is highly antiseptic. In western herbology, studies have supported the use of cloves and clove oil for dental pain, as a mosquito repellent and to prevent premature ejaculation.
