Common Uses:

Treatment of heart conditions and prevention of damage from cancer drugs. Can be used for breast cancer, gum disease, and muscle dystrophy.

Side Effects:
Nausea, diarrhea, or upset stomach.

Cautions / Warnings:

If you have heart conditions, diabetes, or allergies consult a physician before using.

Drug Interactions:
Cholesterol lowering medications: atorvastatin, lovastatin, gemfibrozil.
Beta blockers: propranolol
Diabetes medications: insulin
Medications that "thin" the blood (anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs), such as:
Aspirin (Bayer® and others), Cilostazol (Pletal®), Clopidogrel (Plavix®), Dipyridamole (Persantine®), Eptifibatide (Integrilin®), Heparin or heparin-like products, including dalteparin (Fragmin®), enoxaparin (Lovenox®), or tinzaparin (Innohep®)
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:
Celecoxib (Celebrex®), Diclofenac (Cataflam®, Voltaren®), Etodolac (Lodine®), Ibuprofen (Motrin®, Advil®), Indomethacin (Indocin®), Ketoprofen (Orudis®), Ketorolac (Toradol®), Meloxicam (Mobic®), Naproxen (Naprosyn®) or naproxen sodium (Aleve®, Anaprox®, Naprelan®), Nabumetone (Relafen®), Oxaprozin (Daypro®), Ticlopidine (Ticlid®), Tirofiban (Aggrastat®), Warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®).
