Common Uses:

For erectile disfunction, systemic lupus erythematosus, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia.

Off Label Uses:

Slowing/ reversing aging, improving thought processes in elderly, and negating the affects of Alzheimer’s disease, depression, Addison’s disease. chronic fatigue syndrome, Parkinson’s disease.

Side Effects:
Acne, increased facial hair, increased perspiration, breast tenderness, oily skin, and menstrual irregularity.

Cautions / Warnings:

Do not use during breastfeeding, as it may increase levels of androgen. It may make liver disorders worse, do not take if you have a disorder. It can possibly change blood sugar, therefore, do not take if you have diabetes. DHEA can cause mania, so do not take if you have a mood disorder. Do not take if you have polycystic ovary syndrome. DHEA may lower HDL cholesterol levels.

Fulvestrant (Faslodex)
Insulin
Letrozole (Femara)
Medications changed by the liver (Cytochrome P450 3A4
(CYP3A4) substrates) : lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and many others.

10 May 2012	Have had low testosterone levels (around 200) for awhile; doctor reluctant to give testosterone supplements. Have had very little interest in s*x lately. DHEA has awakened everything.
