The generic name of this medication is aspirin and brand names by which it is also know are Easprin; Ecotrin; and Empirin.

The active ingredient of this medication is acetylsalicylic acid.

It is primarily used to provide relief from fever and mild-to-moderate pain.

Common Uses:

This medication is used to reduce fever and provide relief from mild-to-moderate pain from conditions such as muscle aches; toothaches; common cold; and headaches;
It is also used to reduce pain and swelling in conditions such as arthritis.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
black/tarry stools;
persistent or severe stomach/abdominal pain;
vomit;
Rash;
Itching/swelling;
Dizziness.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not advisable in peoplpe with:
Hemophilia;
Vitamin K deficiency;
Low platelet count;
Renal conditions;
Liver conditions;
Diabetes;
Stomach problems.

Drug Interactions:
Ketorolac;
Mifepristone.
