Description | Uses & Side Effects | Warnings

Epazote is a remedy for roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms. Also used as an effective remedy for upper respiratory illnesses like cough, asthma, bronchitis etc.

Epazote is also used to alleviate angina, for relief from intestinal gas and a general digestive aid, to increase sweating.

The decoction of its leaf is used to expel gas from the intestines and as a mild laxative. It is used as an insecticide and a natural healer for cramps, gout, hemorrhoids, worms in the intestine, and nervous system disorders.

Since the essential oil which is distilled from the seeds, is toxic, the oil of Epazote plant is not recommended for internal use. However, the leaves of this plant which contains smaller amounts of essential oil is the recommended treatment for intestinal parasites in herbal medicinal healing systems.

Common Uses:

Used in the treatment of intestinal worms.

Off Label Uses:

None noted thus far.

It can cause:
Convulsions;
Death;
Dizziness;
Headache;
Hepatic conditions;
Irritation in the mouth and throat;
Irritation to the skin, lining of the intestines;
Paralysis;
Renal conditions;
Temporary loss of hearing;
Vertigo.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in pregnant women and nursing mothers;
Can result in explosion when mixed with other chemicals, acids, and/or when heated.

I don't recomend SMOKING epazote. I dried some leaves, grinded them, put them into mi pipe and smoked it only once for the sake of experience. Just three hits. The next day, I woke up with some discomfort and had a small tremor in my hands, under muy left eye and in my cheeks. So you neither smoke epazote nor eat it in large quantities or in the long run as a tea. In Mexico we use epazote for cooking mainly. (EPAZOTE, a Nahuatl indigenous voice in Mexico).

epazote can be found at the Korean farmers market $0.99 a pack fresh. Since I don't like the smell of it, I make the tea with a few fresh leaves and make coffee with the tea. It has help a lot with my arthritis and asthma.

I am using epazote tea once in morning on an empty stomach for 3-4 days to try and kill a H.Pylori digestive track infection along with any other parasites or worms

You can buy it from tea of life. i think the website is www.theteaoflife.com I get mine from them they also increased the tea bag count of their teas from 20-22 bags so im happy and they gave me extras with all my order

i used epazote because i had been sick for along time with constipation poor digestion,pain in my muscles,couldnt hold a chiropractic adjustment,muscle deteriation,just really sickly puffy body everywhere,so out of desperation i drank epazote tea,for 3 days,i expelled many parasites,liverflukes,and pylori bacteria .roundworms.it took my inflamation away ,soreness,puffiness.acne;whatever fungus i had in my feet,came to the surface,bloating.wormkill headaches.my liver function returned to normal and i can sweat again,my life has changed,and 2 weeks later again,i drank for 3 days,no more inflamed bowels,now i will take it every 3 months,along with probiotics,and enzymes when i eat,and one shot of apple vinagre before bed.im very happy for this miracle tea.people dont need to drink too much,only need small amounts
