I just heard that Januvia is linked with pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. I have had pancreatitis twice (terribly painful and debilitating) previous to starting Januvia. This is of great concern to me. The first time I was made aware of these problems was when a family member saw a commercial for a law firm, asking people & their families effected by these to contact them, as they might be eligible for compensation. Also, since starting Januvia I have had painfully dry stools and constipation. I have never had either of these in my life and was totally shocked by this. I was used to IBS-like bouts with diarrea for most of my life, which made the constipation & dry stool even more perplexing. My symptoms have been ongoing, since within 1 week of taking Januvia. I must take large doses of stool softener daily, and even that does not alleviate the problem. I'm only now considering the link between my problem and Januvia. I'd really like to know if other Januvia users experience the same symptoms. I am especially wondering if the dry stool & constipation could be a result of the Januvia/pancreatic connection.

I started taking Januvia a year ago because my blood sugar had began to go up while I was just taking Metformin and hadn't been doing anything different than usual. Since I started taking Januvia in addition to Metformin I have noticed that my blood sugar is much more stable.
