User Comments about Junel FE
07 Jun 2015 I started Junel on the advice of my physician to regulate hormone levels. It was to be a trial of 3 months. One day after taking the last pill in my very first pack I noticed I was short of breath doing some minor exercises that I normally do just fine. the next day I could barely get up the stairs and was gasping for breath. i am a healthy active 50 year old woman who exercises daily. When I went to the doctor, I suspected maybe Pneumonia, but they wouldn't allow me to drive and sent me directly to the hospital where I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolisms in both lungs. I could barely stand and keep my breath despite being healthy enough to do a 35 mile bike ride not only two weeks prior. The whole thing was tremendously scary.

04 Jun 2015 My Doctor just removed me off Junel Fe. I had 4 surgeries for SEVERE venous insufficiency a few months ago, and now i have developed a blood clot. i am a former athlete and soccer player and am VERY healthy. i started on this pill to prevent ovarian cysts from re-occuring. The past few years I had developed severe leg pain & migraines and couldn't sleep at night. I also have issues with edema in my legs. i am already feeling "better" since going off "the pill".....it's been less than a week!!! I was shocked when my Doc suggested this could be the "culprit" of my problems-i thought it was years of athletics!!!

06 Jan 2015 I am 30 years old and I’ve been on Junel for almost 2 years now. In the past 2 years I have developed severe anxiety mixed with depression, lack of energy, generally just feeling ill 70% of the time. I have wondered and wondered where this sudden change came from and never once did I think it was due to the birth control… but after reading these comments I know exactly where this change came from. I was a happy go lucky person before I started taking these pills and now it is a struggle to get out of bed and face the day most days. And I have to add that I have NO reason to be depressed I have the best boyfriend in the world and an amazing life as of right now. I have stopped this medicine and I am praying that I return to my normal self. I cannot believe it took me 2 years to figure out what the problem was. Everyone is different I guess, but this is absolutely not meant for my body!

07 Mar 2014 I am in the first week of my second pack of (28) Junel pills. I am 23 and this is my first time ever using birth control pills. I recently had an abortion followed by the decision to start taking the pills (started Junel 3 weeks after the abortion). I missed my period during the first pack and decided to take a pregnancy test yesterday that came out negative. I'm reading that with my recent abortion and my body still adjusting to birth control that this is normal. But what is not normal is my severe abdominal pain. Since being on Junel I have had major bloating and constipation. The pain has often kept me up all night. I have also seen a change in my emotions (and so has my boyf). I have become much more sensitive and the little things have started to irritate me. I have also become very lazy. These have been the only noticeable side effects for me. I plan to give my body more time to adjust to Junel but if things don't change up I want to try something else!

22 Jan 2014 So far I surprisingly satisfied. I was worried based on the reviews - how ever I was on Lo Estrin for so long, I didn't realize how different I was. I felt moodier, less patience, a little depressed. I've been on Junel 2 weeks now and I am truly, emotionally better. HOWEVER, I am so gassy ever since i started. It was a very painful for 2 days - but they could've been other reasons too. No weight lost or gain, a little sexual desire increase, no acne. The most I can say is, with all the insurance changes and them going toward "generics" its worth the try. If it really does not work for you, then go off it immediately and talk to your doctor. Mine really calmed me down as I was freaking out.
