User Comments about Junel FE
07 Mar 2014 I am in the first week of my second pack of (28) Junel pills. I am 23 and this is my first time ever using birth control pills. I recently had an abortion followed by the decision to start taking the pills (started Junel 3 weeks after the abortion). I missed my period during the first pack and decided to take a pregnancy test yesterday that came out negative. I'm reading that with my recent abortion and my body still adjusting to birth control that this is normal. But what is not normal is my severe abdominal pain. Since being on Junel I have had major bloating and constipation. The pain has often kept me up all night. I have also seen a change in my emotions (and so has my boyf). I have become much more sensitive and the little things have started to irritate me. I have also become very lazy. These have been the only noticeable side effects for me. I plan to give my body more time to adjust to Junel but if things don't change up I want to try something else!

22 Jan 2014 So far I surprisingly satisfied. I was worried based on the reviews - how ever I was on Lo Estrin for so long, I didn't realize how different I was. I felt moodier, less patience, a little depressed. I've been on Junel 2 weeks now and I am truly, emotionally better. HOWEVER, I am so gassy ever since i started. It was a very painful for 2 days - but they could've been other reasons too. No weight lost or gain, a little sexual desire increase, no acne. The most I can say is, with all the insurance changes and them going toward "generics" its worth the try. If it really does not work for you, then go off it immediately and talk to your doctor. Mine really calmed me down as I was freaking out.

16 Oct 2013 This was the worst birth control I have ever taken. I tried very hard to give this BC a chance. I waited a long, long four months. I was cramping and spotting the entire 21 days, followed by a full-blown period. I also developed SEVERE acne. Perhaps the worst side effect of this BC is the incredible exhaustion. Most days I couldn't get out of bed. It was a chore for me to get up and get food in the kitchen. I had to quit the gym, take a leave of absence from my job, and you can only imagine what happened to my social life. I was miserable and hopeless. I'm only now getting my energy back--2 months after I stopped! Beware!

17 Aug 2013 I have been taking Junel off and on when I remember, but I feel like my emotions have been severely unbalanced lately. I wouldn't think that taking Junel like that should affect me in such a way. But I have hit an all time low and am not going to take it any more to see if that was part of the problem.

15 Apr 2013 I have been on Junel for two years and do not know why I have waited this long to quit. I am 23, never had a baby and this was my first pill experience. Even so, I knew something was wrong. It started with constipation, stomach aches and anxiety which has now progressed into lack of energy, extreme fits of emotional distress and borderline depression. It isn't me and I literally feel like these hormones are controlling me. I just got a new job and cannot focus for the life of me. It is taking a toll on my relationship because I have no sexual urges, which I used to get like any sexually active young woman. Took my last pill this weekend and am finally freeing myself.

02 May 2013 I am so glad i found this website! I am 36 and was on Loestrin for a year until my insurance decides not to cover it anymore, so my Dr. prescribes this! I feel the same way when you said You couldn't believe it took you so long to quit. I just started it about 2 months ago, but didn't really start feeling the effects until about i month into it. I have 2 kids and my tubes are tied but i;m on bc for ovarian cysts, apparently lo estrogen pills help with them, so anyways its allergy season here in VA so about 5 weeks ago i woke up with an intense headache, so bad i couldnt open my eyes. I hace never had a migraine or a headache that bad so i assumed the pollen count must be really high and i'm coming down with a sinus infection. Then i got up and felt really dizzy. I basically stayed in the bed all day that day. Then the next day i had severe nausea(which i thought was weird if i was coming down with a sinus infection) I had the worse gas pains and bloating. This went on for a week, the headaches dimmed but never truly went away. Iam very active so i couldn't take it anymore and went to the dr who said i must have the stomach bug. So another week went by, and i even contemplated stopping the pill, but i honestly did not think it could make me feel this bad. So another week went by and my face was breaking out terribly(not normal for me) and my eczema that has not flared since i was a teenager flared up sooooo bad. So today i woke up and told myself somethings not right and im going to do some research on this pill. (mind you i did look it up when i haf to switch but only looked at one website which the reviews seemed normal as normal as bc reviews can be). But today im stopping this pill. I feel so unlike myself and this is the only thing that is different in my life.I really appreciate all the honest reviews on this website, because this is actually some useful social media that has made me realize that THIS PILL SUCKS! And the makers of it are probably men!:) So to conclude, im sorry to all the people that felt the same way i did on this pill, but if we didnt share our stories then how would we know that this pill sucks! Thanks
