User Comments about Keppra
06 Apr 2011 I liked the keppra since its the only drug that helped me,in the beginning i toke only 250 mg at 7 pm and din't raise the dosage any further becuase i felt perfect.later i started checking if im still sensetive to flashing lights of caused by the sun and such.I realized im am so i started taking another 250 in the morning which made things worse.i got used to that in the end and now taking 500 at evening and 250 mg at morning but i feel bad. When i wake up i feel like i din't sleep at all and im like a zombie.i can understand what people say but can't react or don't care really, really really tired and feel bad altough im can look at flashing lights now with almost no problems.I must admit i started with generic keppra and now with brand keppra some of the side effects went away. The only thing that bothers me is the heavy fatigue feeling i have and i don't know what to do.Its not that bad as the first week but it never goes away.If i could just take something against that fatigue without causing a seizure i would recommend this drug for anyone!!!

08 Nov 2010 I am currently experiencing hypotension and muscle spasms, especially in my chest area. I'm tired all of the time, but when I go to bed, I can't fall asleep. I'm now very moody and have very sever headaches. I can hear my heartbeat loudly in my left ear, but after MRIs and CT scans, nothing abnormal was found.

02 Sep 2010 This is a great medicine to help with nerve pain. I was on Lyrica for three months but had to switch off because it wasnt reducing my pain and I was experiencing several side effects. The only side effects I experienced from Keppra was being a little tired. It helped relieve my sciatic nerve pain that I was having.

19 Aug 2010 I am a Dane, 31 years old, female, and been taking Keppra for about 3 months. It is the only antiepileptic drug I have been taking, and I have not been taking it with other kinds of medication. My dosis started with 500mg twice a day, for two days, and then it was lowered (due to vertigo) to 250mg twice a day. When I began to take Keppra I got dizzy, very tired during the day, even though I also got plenty of sleep, I lost many eyelashes and eyebrow hair, another sideeffect was mild depression (my doctor's words), and my arms where itching a lot throughout the day. The dizzines came almost right away, approx. after 1-2 days with medication but fortunately it stopped after 3 weeks. The feeling of being very tired started approx. after 1 week of medication and lasted continuously every day for around 2 months. I am still feeling a little tired even though I get 8 hours of sleep, but it is much less than when starting taking Keppra. The loosing of eyelashes/eyebrow hair started about 2 weeks after starting Keppra, and stopped falling after about 3 months of being on Keppra. So although doctors/pharmacists may say that the side effects will go away after 1-2 weeks, it looks like it is probably very individualistic how long it takes for the body to adapt to the medicine.
