User Comments about Lamictal
27 Aug 2011 I really thing it is a wonder drug. My husband has been on Lamictal for a while now. A few years ago I let him miss one day of it because we did not make it to the pharmacy in time and He ended up in Beckley Hospital psychiatric unit. Since then he has not missed any doses.

13 Jul 2011 I've stopped taking Lamictal. It caused me to have hallucinations. My doctor then diagnosed me with psychosis, even though I knew the hallucinations were caused by the medicine. I stopped taking it even though my doctor asked me not to. And what do you know? The hallucinations stopped.

01 Jun 2011 Lamictal was one big side effect for me. Instead of curbing my rapid cycling, it enhanced the symptoms. It did help with my horrid depression however. So, I guess that was good. I just couldn't stand the side effects.

21 Apr 2011 I was prescibed Lamictal for PCS/Mild TBI for symptoms of this condition. Before taking the drug. I had severe headaches, ringing in the ears, dizziness/blurred vision, and trouble judging distance. Since taking the drug, everything is worse. I have days that I have no idea of what is going on or keep my eyes open. I have problems with short term memory. I might be cooking something to eat on the stove and just walk away from it. I expalin this to the doctor. The doctor just prescibes more. I feel like I am slowly being poisoned to death. This drug has also made controlling my blood sugar a nightmare. I have to take more diabetes meds to try and somewhat control it. I cannot exercise. I have no energy or will to this since being on med. Plus gianed 30 pounds really quick.

24 Feb 2011 It was a horrific experience. I have a jaw injury and botched corrective surgery, the Veterans Administration sends me to Neurology which has not a clue about TMJ disorders (TMD) or the pain clinic, they don't show up for appointments, the computers are down, they lie in my record, threaten me (to put bad things in my record), if I couldn't drive because it was dangerous I would get threatened "YOU REFUSED TREATMENT", or someone shows up to check the oxygen tanks, I showed them to him THEN he wants to inspect the house, which isn't mine and that is not what I was told he was coming for, I didn't have permission from the owner - so I was a HOSTILE PATIENT, I was as nice as could be, but sorry he couldn't inspect the house/my Fiancee's Bedroom (come on!) This is a horrific experience. I suggest EVERYONE beware of joining the military, if you get injured as I have the VA will take care of you - and they are as sick and a disfunctional an abomination of a medical facility as there is on the planet. It is HIGHLY DISTURBING. I was in the medical field, a Navy Hospital Corpsman, I know what BAD MEDICINE IS, they are BAD MEDICINE. They use Veterans as FODDER for Residency and Fellowship programs, for them to practice taking a history and "try this/Try that" no follow-up, months/years of delays, lie after lie, they should be jailed! LITERALLY!!! Jailed, have their medical licensess taken from them, shut down and burnt down, put out of business forever, they do nothing but damage and watch out for their jobs, blame the patient (victum), start over each time from day 1 as if each doctor (resident/Fellow) was the 1st doctor I ever saw and their job was to "EVALUATE" me and discover what it is I have - then, "try this/Try that" - throw medicine/some treatment at me and see if it sticks - AND THEY NEVER LISTEN "hey, I have had this for 28 years"... and then they get angry at me, lie in my record "HE DEMANDS DRUGS". BE WARNED!!! Join the the service at your own risk. Take this VERY SERIOUSLY, if it works out for you great, but if it doesn't you are screwed by your government, the ones that you were expected to do service for your country will do a dis-service to you. You can judge a country by how it treats it's veterans, the USA is in a real, real bad spot and getting worse. In serious denial. It will all come collapsing down, it already is.
