Medorrhinum is also used for conditions that affect the nerves, spine, kidneys, and mucous membranes, or for problems of an emotional nature. It may be given if a person or their parents have a history of gonorrhea, or a history of early heart disease runs in the family. Characteristically, their complaints clear when they are near the seaside. Psychologically, people who require this remedy are hurried, with a sense of anticipation. They feel empty inside, forsaken, deserted, and in a dreamlike state, as if everything is unreal. Curiously, the soles of their feet are extremely sensitive. This remedy is used to treat people who exhibit extremes of behavior; those who are selfish, egotistical, and self-centered on the one hand and yet can be withdrawn, absentminded, and very sensitive to beautiful things, especially in nature.
