21 Nov 2011 I have taken Analgin, which is sold in many European countries as a pain killer for, toothache, stomachache, headache stuff like that, to releif some pain. Well, now im developing Hives (urticaria), and while taking steroids to treat the hives, i come across to take Analgin (Metamizole) twice, and my whole face swelled up,and the rash worstened a lot, i am starting to think i have become alergic to Metamizole sodium which is present in the Analgin pill. Even though ive been taking Analgin since early ages, i have heard that people became allergic to Metamizole Sodium even in their 60's and 70's years of age, after many many years of taking! Hope this helps someone. P.S. I am still not sure if I really am allergic to this pill or the Metamizole thats in it, but its a very good clue since i swelled up twice from taking it!

09 Aug 2011 I've been taking this medicine for almost 5 years. After being on it for so long I tried the radiation therapy by taking the radiation pill. That was expensive and appearently hasnt worked well because the doctor said my thyroid is still hyperactive and I am still on the Metamizole.

14 Jul 2009 I've been taking Metamizole since my childhood for toothaches, headaches, flu symptoms like fever and aches over the whole body. Except the taste, I found this drug very helpful. Now, reading about the agranulocytosis it can give, I'm a little bit skeptical. Are other pharmaceutical companies in competition with the producers of Metamizole? I found Tylenol for example much worse than Metamizole and definitely I prefer Metamizole instead.
