28 Dec 2011 This medication is very effective at relieving congestion and associated pressure/pain. Works great the first two hours, but after that it wore off quite quickly even though it should last 4-6 hours.

05 Dec 2011 I took mucinex DM for the first time because I had a little bit of congestion (not sick, just had extra mucous that I wanted to get rid of)....my experience was AWFUL!!! I took 1 pill in the morning and in about 45 minutes my symptoms began. First I started feeling dizzy and was having a hard time concentrating. I then felt like I needed to go to the bathroom, but on the way to the bathroom I felt so faint that I decided I probably wouldn't make it and turned around to call the Dr. I spoke with a nurse who told me that some people have very adverse effects to taking this medicine. After I got off the phone I felt that I could probably make it to the bathroom...I had been holding it for awhile, afraid that I might pass out on the way there. Luckily I did make it to the restroom because I had diarrhea. After this I felt numb, dizzy, chest pain and had blurred vision. It is now 12 hours later and I still feel the effects...headache, intestinal discomfort, loss of appetite..etc. I will NEVER EVER take Mucinex DM again!!! Oh....and why doesn't the box have warnings about the possible symptoms?!? This would have been helpful in my decision to take this in the first place.

31 Oct 2011 After taking Mucinex DM twice daily (morning/evening) for about a week. I started to get anxious during sleep. Feeling like I couldn't breath. By about a week, I suffered from strong anxiety when trying to sleep. Causing me to not be able to laydown and sleep. During day, very hyper. "like a caged animal" Very non-normal condition for me. Never suffered an axiety attack previously.

21 Oct 2011 Usually I take regular mucinex for a cough and cold. Yesterday and today I took 1 mucinex dm, I had purchased them by accident. Both yesterday and today I have severe anxiety and fell extremely dizzy. I only took one pill in the morning both days but today I have stomach and intestinal issues too. I will not take the DM ever again but will try the regular mucinex since that did work just fine in the past. I feel horrible, how long will this feeling last a whole 12 hours?
