Prior to trying Nascobal, I had used a vitamin B12 patch. As a fribromyalgia patient, I shared with my doctor how much the patch had helped me sleep. But it was expensive, so he offered a prescription, which my insurance would pay for. But the Nascobal hyped me up and I couldn't sleep. Now, I'm back on a very strong sub-lingual, and I am sleeping much more deeply. Since I was puzzled by this, I decided to try to find out if Nascobal was actaully an analog, which brought me to this page. I think my experience is one more example of how mother nature knows best. It is such a shame that insurance will not pay for the cheaper, more effective real vitamin B12 but will pay for the more expensive prescription inferior analog. Multiply this by many times over and it gives you an idea how screwed up our medical system has become. Perhaps we would see great improvement in care and price if the FDA and the pharmaceuticals weren't so chummy.

Prior to taking Nascobal, I had to give myself weekly injections. Taking it intranasally is much better.
