20 Feb 2012 I find it very effective for back pain relief, and have been prescribed the med for about 1.5 years. I take 1 5mg pill every 4 hours or so (4 total a day) - works great. The negative is - I often (about 50%) have nights whereby I wake up with leg or arm pain/twitching. If over a period of a few days I reduce my daily intake, the night symptoms are certain. The discomfort is really difficult to describe. Pain is not really accurate. It's more like a shooting painlike itch that lasts for a few seconds and reoccurs every 10 seconds or so. It has a consistency you can't ignore, I will use the word "tortorous". I have tried holding an arm or leg in the air, or even vigorous excerise, or just walking or running - nothing works. Well except ... take another pill. The shooting will begin to subside within 20-30 min and be completely gone within 45 min (approx). Ultimately, I highly recommend taking the drug; it's effective - God help me when it's time to stop.

21 Oct 2008 It's a horrible drug that is ineffective for pain. The doctors in my area prescribe it regularly as their drug of choice for pain. They refuse to give their patients anything better. It's awful.
