16 Nov 2011 Sandostatin has had a positive effect on my tumor growth . I had 6 surgeries during a 2 year period and the remaining tumors in my abdomen and liver have remained the same or shrunk whilst I have been on sandostatin therapy. However, the side effects make it impossible for at least half the month to have any sort of quality of life. From bowel frequency to permanent flu like symptoms, sinus problems, headaches, dizzy spells and now raynauds syndrome. All could probably be handled in isolation but unfortunately when they come together, it makes it impossible to have a good quality life and be able to look after home and continue to work.

30 Jan 2010 Sandostatin-Lar was very good at controlling my diarrea at first, but as the months wnet on I started to be very sick and had most of the serious side effects. Tingling in hands and feet, bloating leading to a lot of pain, vomiting acid, back ache, pain every time I ate due the wind build up. Stomach swelled right up all down my torso, Lots of pain down the groin area of the bowels. I realised I was ill more days than I felt well. I took myself off this drug to prove it was chemical based, my Oncologist agreed. I have a Nuroendocrine carcinoid and suffer with the syndrome also.
