The generic name of this medication is Levonorgestrel/Ethinyl Estradiol and Brand Name is LoSeasonique and Seasonique.
Seasonique is Manufactured by Duramed Pharmaceuticals Inc.
The active ingredients of this medication are levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol.
Mainly used in Preventing pregnancy.

Common Uses:

Seasonique is primarily used for preventing pregnancy in women.

Off Label Uses:

Heavy menstrual bleeding;
Painful menstrual periods ;
Irregular menstrual periods;
Acne;
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Side Effects:
Acne;
Breast tenderness or enlargement;
Changes in appetite;
Changes in weight;
Dizziness;
Headache;
Loss of scalp hair;
Nausea;
Nervousness;
Stomach cramps or bloating;
Vaginal spotting or breakthrough bleeding;
Vomiting.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not advisable in people who are allergic to any ingredient in Seasonique;
Not advisable in people who have a history of blood clots (eg, in the lungs, legs, eyes); certain heart problems (eg, heart valve problems, irregular heartbeat);
Not advisable in people who have active liver disease or liver tumors;
Not advisable in people who are pregnant or think you may be pregnant.

Drug Interactions:
Troleandomycin;
Acetaminophen;
Azole antifungals (eg, ketoconazole);
Aprepitant, barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital);
Beta-blockers (eg, propranolol);
Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin);
Clofibric acid.

29 Dec 2011	The reason I went on this was to help regulate my hormones so that I would have less highs and lows. For the first three months I had BTB all of the time. I have gained so much weight...almost 12 pounds since starting this with no change in my eating habits. That is very depressing. On the start of the fourth month I actually felt good for the first 45 days or so of taking the pills. But then the breakthrough bleeding would occur with such a severe headache that lasted 2-4 days. I just got over the headaches and am going to stop taking this all together.
