02 May 2018 Seretide does not clear my respiratory tract of the thick mucous and congestion which causes me to wheeze and cough at times. If I stop taking Seretide for a few days my symptoms will worsen, so I guess it does work to some degree, but it only relieves the symptoms, and not always. I would really like to eradicate the actual cause and I feel this must be an underlying chronic infection with some atypical bacteria such as Chlamydia pheumonia, about which there has been some research, but my doctor tends to patronise me and told me a prescribed short course of antibiotics would have got rid of any infection and I know this is not true for this organism.

02 Mar 2018 I have been using seretide for approximately 8 years for buildup of phlegm in my upper airway and associated difficult breathing and shortness of breath. The only diagnosis I have had from a respiratory physician is that he thinks my upper airway is "hyper-responsive", but not why this might be so. My condition has got worse over this time, although the seretide does help to open my airways, less so now than it used to. I am constantly coughing up mucous and phlegm and suffer increasingly from chest and sinus infections and worsening of shortness of breath on exertion. I have headaches almost every day.

02 Mar 2018 Oh Jenny that's terrible. You might what to read what I found in my desperate situation..on and off seratide over 10 years. 1. Been research in Aus -and overseas since 1990 or so re use of. Zithromycin group of drugs for asthmatics... think about 80 percent success rate. The drug group acts against pneumonia chlamidya for once thing.. 2. DHEA look at worldhealth.net. For a start. Gives immune boost and reduces the hyper reactivity your specialist noted. Plus more... stops the aging effect of corticosteroids. Ideally get recommendation for path lab blood test, otherwise . It's production is reduced right down by cortisol and by Seratide. I take 50 mg per day.
