Common Uses:

This medication is used in the treatment of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma especially in people who are non-compliant with at least one course of systemic therapy.

Off Label Uses:

Off label uses include treatment of lung cancer; breast cancer; and Kaposi's sarcoma.

Side Effects:
Side effects include:
Abdominal pain;
Anemia;
Dry skin;
Headache;
Hypothyroidism;
Infection;
Leukopenia;
Lipid abnormalities like increased levels of triglycerides; total and LDL cholesterol; and decreased levels of HDL cholesterol;
Nausea;
Peripheral edema;
Rash.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients;
A history of pancreatitis; increased levels of lipids; excessive alcohol consumptio; unchecked diabetes mellitus; biliary tract disease; and medications that could increase the triglyceride levels.
This medication can cause severe forms of lipid abnormalities in most patients;
Pancreatitis is another condition that can result from using this medication;
Studies also indicate incidents of hypothyroidism and leukopenia resulting from use of this medication;
It is also not recommended in pregnant women; women planning on becoming pregnant; and nursing mothers.

Drug Interactions:
None known currently since no formal studies have been conducted thus far.
