Common Uses:
This medication is used to treat or prevent bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease.
Off Label Uses:
It is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm.
Side Effects:
Bronchospasm (wheezing, chest tightness, trouble breathing), especially after starting a new canister of this medicine;
Chest pain and fast, pounding, or uneven heart beats;
Tremor, nervousness;
Low potassium (confusion, uneven heart rate, extreme thirst, increased urination, leg discomfort, muscle weakness or limp feeling).
Cautions / Warnings:
Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients; or those who are allergic to albuterol;
Heart disease, high blood pressure, or congestive heart failure;
Heart rhythm disorder;
Overactive thyroid.
It is also not recommended in pregnant women; women planning on becoming pregnant; and nursing mothers.
Drug Interactions:
A diuretic (water pill);
Digoxin (digitalis, Lanoxin);
A beta-blocker such as atenolol (Tenormin), metoprolol (Lopressor), propranolol (Inderal), and others;
an antidepressant such as amitriptyline (Elavil, Etrafon), doxepin (Sinequan), imipramine (Janimine, Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), and others.

Thank God for Ventolin. I was given ProAir after the Warrick spray was discontinued. I I had to throw the ProAir in the garbage after two puffs. I told the doctor that he should stop prescribing that ineffective piece of garbage to his patients. Doctors are probably getting kick back from the ProAir labs because everyone is complaining but they still keep trying to shove it down their patients throat. Ventolin has been a savior. I also heard that Xopenex is not bad either.

I use this inhaler as my rescue inhaler when I need quick air, this really helps with my ashma and everyone should have this because this is very helpful when your having an ashtma attack.

Ventolin is my rescue inhaler for my ashma, its a really good inhaler and I am dependent on it to save me in certain situations. Love the Inhaler but doesnt taste so great to me
