The generic name of this medication is dextromethorphan and brand names are Robitussin
Silphen DM, Simply Cough, St. Joseph, Vicks 44 Cough Relief etc.

Vicks 44 Cough Relief is manufactured by Procter & Gamble.

The active ingredient of this medication is dextromethorphan hbr.

Mainly used to relieve coughs due to colds or influenza (flu).

Common Uses:

This medication is used to relieve coughs due to colds or influenza (flu).

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Blurred vision
Confusion
Difficulty in urination
Drowsiness or dizziness
Nausea or vomiting
Shakiness and unsteady walk
Slow breathing

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended for young children.
Not advisable in patients with unusual or allergic reaction to this medicine
Not advisable during pregnancy and in nursing mothers.
