This is truly a miracle herb. I have had serious respiratory problems since childhood, and with a weak immune system, tended to severe colds several times a year and pneumonia about every two years and now COPD. Since I started taking yin chiao (Dr. Shens, at the recommendation of an acupuncturist) at the first sign of a cold nearly 15 years ago (at the first sign is important), I've only had two colds -- once when I was out of town and didn't have yin chiao with me and another time in the spring when I thought I was having an allergy attack and waited a day too late to take it.. Last night I was parked in a huge movie theater parking lot for the premier of Avatar, and when I came out at night, it was pouring - and I mean - POURING rain. It was also about 40 degrees. The wind was so strong it turned my umbrella permanently inside out and I couldn't find my car. By the time I found it -maybe 15 minutes later - I was totally soaked and freezing. I took a hot bath when I got home and soon felt fine. No sign of getting sick. But this morning I woke up sneezing and feverish with a runny nose,red eyes, nausea - feeling absolutely terrible. So I immediately took three yin chiao tablets (and felt worse, which it tends to do initially) and three hours later took three more, and one hour later started to feel better, and my symptoms began to disappear and in another hour were gone. Yin Chiao is really incredible. But I do find that initially it makes my symptoms worse for several hours - as if it's speeded up a cold to pass through my system in 3-5 hours rather than 5-7 days. But it's worth it. Just make sure that take it at the first signs of a cold, even if you're not sure a cold is starting.

A naturopath has shared that Yin Chiao is a “weak herb” compared to strong herbs. This is so it is more easily tolerated by all. Because it is a weeks herb, when you start to feel icky, take 24 tablets, wait 3 hours and take 24 more. Also take the homeopathic immune booster Oscillococcinum as box directs. This is a ONCE per day dose. Do this again that next day until you fell better (not completely well.)
