Treatment Information
Zyflamend is an herbal supplement containing ten different herbs as follows:
Ocimum sanctum (Holy basil) leaf; Curcuma longa (Turmeric) rhizome; Zingiber officinale (Ginger) rhizome; Camellia sinensis (Green tea) leaf; Rosemarinus officinalis (Rosemary) leaf and essential oil; Polygonum cuspidatum (Hu Zhang) root; Coptis chinensis (Chinese goldthread) root; Berberis vulgaris (Barberry) root; Origanum heracleoticum (Oregano) leaf; and Scutellaria baicalensis (Scullcap) root.

Zyflamend is used primarily as an anti-inflammatory agent. The reported method of action is inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 activity. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, Zyflamend is used to treat arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Other uses are for anti-ageing purposes and potential prevention/treatment of cancer.

Because Zyflamend is an herbal remedy, it has not been thoroughly tested and approved by the FDA. The FDA has issued a warning statement concerning exaggerated claims about this product stressing that Zyflamend has not been well researched.

User Comments about Zyflamend
23 May 2012 I believe that it was a significant contributor to me experiencing mild pains and discomfort in my chest and throughout my body. I was directed to report to the Emergency Room to have tests done on my heart. Fortunately, my heart was cleared of any problems. However, I do believe that Zyflamend was a significant contributing factor to the sensation of pain, perhaps neurologically based, because symptoms subsided significantly upon discontinuation of the product. In other words, use with caution and the best approach is to consult with a medical doctor before use.

24 May 2012 I posted two (?) years ago, that I was benefiting from Zyflamend for my arthritic toes, and I keep the dosage quite low in comparison to what is recommended. At one point, I stopped for awhile to see if I was correctly assessing it's benefits or whether time had muddied my perception. In fact it was helping. So, I began again, and the second time I started it, there were two mornings when my heart raced and I hadn't done anything out of the ordinary (no extra coffee nor exercise), for example. Then it ceased to happen, and I've continued to take it. I'm 60, have no known heart problems, low cholesterol, no chronic illnesses, so I feel comfortable that it cannot interact with any pharmaceuticals, since I'm not on anything. The racing was no worse than having a close call or too much stress. But everyone needs to be aware of this and the company should also be notified. I did.

24 May 2012 I did have beneficial results from Zyflamend, but I had to stop taking it because I experienced what I call heart flutters. Since stopping Z I have not experienced them. I either live with the joint stiffness after sitting or take pain relievers now.
