Used in the treatment of hypertension or blood pressure. It is normally administered when other antihypertensive medications have failed to provide relief from hypertension.

Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients, specially if one develops swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or have difficulty breathing; excessive sweating;
A history of kidney disease or severe congestive heart failure because this medication could interfere with kidney function;
History of congestive heart failure;
History of liver disorders;
Diabetes, lupus, or gout;
History of taking bee or wasp venom to desensitize from insect stings, since this medication can react or cause severe allergic reaction;
A history of allergy or bronchial asthma;
History of taking ACE inhibitors.

It is also not recommended in pregnant women; women planning on becoming pregnant; and nursing mothers.
