The first few days I took Trileptal I felt "drunk" but that vanished within the first week. Cognitive side effects such as severely not being able to remember words and short term memory loss were severe the first few months, but tapered off so that after the first 6 months I wasn't and am still not sure if it's the Trileptal or getting older (45) that's causing the now mild effects.

Terrible drug. I always felt like I was going to faint. Made it almost impossible to drive a car or function at work. Fell quite a few times due to dizziness. I would not recommend this drug. I never had high blood pressure to begin with, not sure why the Dr insisted that I take this drug. It was 120/70 which I always thought was normal. I've been trying to get several plantar warts removed by my dermatologist for 6 monthe with no results. I feel there is a constant battle going on between my head and my stomach. My head tells me I need more food. When I open the refrigerator or the cupboard my stomach screams out "I can't take any more please help me." I can't seem to figure out when I am legitimately hungry or the drug has taken over my mind.
