Perhaps it is just an effect of being on birth control in general, but with Junel FE my periods are regular (something they had never been), and my cramping is significantly less severe. I have noticed some hormonal changes (ie mood swings, headaches), but equal to or less than other birth control brands I have been on.

Please don't start Agomelatine with these side-effects in your mind. Wait and see what it does for you. everybody reacts different and it could be the right one for you! I think, if you you have psychosomatic problems that you can definetely "talk" yourself also into not having a benefit from A., because you read a lot of stuff you didn't like to hear and now you fear you might react the same. Definately helped me to stabilize my moods. When my spouse is gone though I can have bouts of suicidal thoughts, lack of energy. Need a booster with it. Very dysfunctional if a dose is missed in 12 hrs- dizzy, heart palpatations, unbalanced severely. But my life is still better with it

To ad few side effect to the list...21 Sept 2015 my left eyelid started to burn and hitch,a red patch. My right eyelid had little skin tag and blurry vision...very sleepy sometimes.
