I have been taking Effexor XR in combination with Lexapro for 5 years. Recently deciding to fast and cleanse I stopped taking both meds. Please do not stop abrubtly as I did. Follow the advice of your physician and wean off the meds. I experienced extreme withdrawls including sleeplessness, flash headaches, nausea, extreme sadness and suicidal thoughts. I went off this drug this morning and am looking forward to not bleeding for a month straight at a time (I think of the 3 ½ months i've been on it, i've bled for 2 ½ - 3 months). I certainly won't miss severe mood swings (or crying jags). I have't gained weight - but i've had a tough time loosing it. I wonder how long it will take for my system to get back to "normal".

I ENDED MY PRESCRIBED 5-YEAR PERIOD OF TAKING TAMOXIFEN (100 MG PER DAY) APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR AGO. RIGHT AFTER STOPPING THE MEDICATION, I STARTED EXHIBITING SIGNS OF ELEVATED INTRACRANIAL PRESSURE OF CEREBROSPINAL FLUID (CSF).
