Originally, my dosage was started at 50mg, then raised gradually to 150mg. My mother, age 85, was taking Prednisone for pulmonary fibrosis and it caused congestive heart failure and she died about 3 wks after she started taking it. Singulair prevents me from constantly sneezing and having a runny nose and itchy eyes. I really like that this medication doesn’t make me sleepy and I have experienced no side effects. By treating my allergies, singulair also really helps with my asthma.
