My 16 year old daughter is also suffering from the Gardasil nightmare! She received her first shot on January 9th, 2009, after her doctor practically pushed it down our throats! We were told it was safe and effective and they made me feel that if I didnt get this vaccine for my daughter, that I basically was a bad mom! It helps some, but not a lot. I still have horrible reactions when I am around my worst allergens (ie: dogs, cats) even when I have taken Claritin 24 Hour that morning. For general seasonal allergies it does help keep them at bay enough that I can function. It can also help to dispel some of my headaches, if they are allergy and/or congestion-based.

When I switched to Microgestin I started getting extreme dry mouth, especially at night time when laying down. I will wake up in the middle of the night and my mouth/gums will be completely dry to the point where I can't make my own saliva. Also, I've gained a lot of weight since taking it. My doctor presribed low ogestrel because irregular period that had been on for 5 weeks. I had to take 4 for 4 days 3 for 3 days 2 for 2 days then 1 a day. After the first two days i started having severe anxiety attacks. Then i started having irregular heartbeats, short of breathe, nervousness, migranes and loss of energy. I have stopped taking them and waiting for my follow visit in two day with my doctor. And most of my symptom has ceased.

Trazodone has helped with my insomnia and has made it easier for me to sleep. It also does not make me groggy in the morning when I wake up. However, I see a significant difference in effectiveness depending on what pharmacy I get it from.

I think it is a great medication that really helped me quit after almost 30 years smoking. But the first step to be successful is to really want to quit and then Chantix will help with the effects of withdrawal. In my case the side effects were not strong enough to take me out of the path to reach my goal. It is worth it to try.
