I have awful menstrual cramps, and so, generally, when I can relieve that, I can think clearer and my emotions are more intact (hence my answer for the emotional side-effects above).

Prozac made me emotionally numb and killed my sex life. In the long run, I don't think it's an ideal treatment for depression because you don't feel anything, even when you should.

I have PTSD, ADHD, Panic Anxiety, generalising Anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, anxiety, Social Phobia. I had never heard of xanax before I was told by my doctor. Psychiatry had medicated myself with all sorts of different antidepressant pills and antileptica! I often have to switch my birth control because it doesn't always relieve my pain. Microgestin has been effective until recently. Just last month was a very heavy and painful period. I also had irregular bleeding 2 weeks before my usual period. I'm unsure if this is normal or a problem with Microgestin, but it will be discussed with my doctor. Either way, it was an uncomfortable month and quite inconvenient.

Positives: Works fast, not a pain killer... so there are no groggy side effects. Used for several years without any problems. Negatives: Quite expensive even with insurance. No generic equivalent available.
