I began with Effexor a few years ago. It worked wonderfully at first, and then I experienced severe side effects. I switched to Cymbalta with great success without the side effects. Vyvanse is the best medication I have tried for ADD. I have some insomnia, which I could deal with and which may go away over time. I have taken the drug for 9 days now. My major problem is urgency to urinate, frequent urination and no relief. This awful feeling I will not be able to abide. I have submitted a sample to check for a UTI, but I probably don't have one. During the first week I took half a dose and experienced a pretty strong distaste to all foods. Even when I was hungry, the sight and smell of food made me feel sick. This went away during the second week. My only other side effect is that I don't sleep as much as I used to. Also, it tends to wear off suddenly between doses. I find that Avil is a great pain reliever when my ankle is swoleen and in pain from the surgury that I had in October. I only take it as needed for pain and find that when I do take it; it is very effective
