Nexium has been the only medicine to help with my GERDS. My reflux was so bad it acid bubbled into my nose and I could not breathe; regardless of when I ate! There is nothing worse than being unable to not breathe! I would have to tell myself to be calm and let the acid bubbles subside to catch a breathe. The acidic cough is the worst! Nexium is the best! Terrible! Try getting off this medication! It messes up your brain chemistry. I ended up in the psych ward after the terrible anxiety after trying to taper off. I did not alleviate any nerve pain that I had or still have. It's cousin Lyrica is just as dangerous! I would not suggest either of these meds. Antisiezure meds should be used for that purpose only. I find Allegra D extremely effective for combatting all allergy symptoms. The only downside is you can only take it in the morning and not when the allergies are bothering you. It will keep you up at night!

I have had no side effects from the drug, and would not even notice that I am taking it except for the fact that my thyroid levels have improved since beginning the regimen.
