I had many of the side effects listed for Advair. They started slowly until the 26 day I developed a painful red swollen tonsil...I couldn't swallow without pain. My voice was hoarse, I had feverish chills, parts of my body became numb and I was tired all the time. I started getting frequent outbreaks of herpes/shingles on my sacrum which continued weeks after use. i was on yaz before and ortho-tricyclen lo before that. ortho mad em gain a bunch of weight and i had really bad depression and anxiety. I went on Yaz and did'nt have many side effects except a drop in sex drive. However after two years i started getting abnormal periods - where i would bleed for a month at a time and got anemic. I switched to Junel and was worried because of some of the reviews i have read. I really like it, i have a heightened sex drive and have probably lost about 5 pounds... View full comment

Vicodin

I tore the ligaments in my ankle (very painful) and was prescribed Vicodin. I only take one pill and am fine with it. Lessens the pain with no noticeable side-effects while awake. I have noticed that if I take one right before bed, I will wake up with both my arms entirely numb, feeling like they are "asleep". So I just don't take it before bed any more.

See my mother's Alz experience above. She got into trouble with only 3/4 of a .5 mg tab a day. When I insisted Mom be sedated for invasive procedures at a hospital ER room, they figured they'd give her a full day's allowed dose at once, so that would be 1.5 mg. That put her in LaLa land allright. I was grateful they used it on this occasion. Overuse of this drug could have stopped her breathing. 22 mg in one day. Good grief. Mom's been off it for about a month now, and has NO delusions at all... View full comment

I am taking Proscar (finasteride) in its non-prescribed use as a hair loss drug. After taking it for 6 months, I have seen an effective stop to my hair loss, and an increase in the density of my hair in the front. New vellous (small/white) hairs are popping up around my scalp, and some of them continue to darken.
