Hey, I am starting to think about the side-effects of Depakine in the long term - the slowdown of brain fucntion, hair-loss, later kidney and liver demage and concentration. I am only 28 now, was 25 at the first episode. And I am really aware of the long-term slowdown of the brain.

I was on the NuvaRing for 4 years and I loved it. Little to no cramps, 2-3 day light periods. Everything was great. Suddenly I started getting yeast infections. The first one was the last week before my period. It went away when I had my period, but came back three days after I put in a new ring. And lasted for 2 weeks. There is a strange metallic taste that the user gets when using these eye drops. About 20 min. after use, thru the sinus cavity, the taste becomes apparent and stays for about 30 min. Rather unpleasant.

I have been taking advair since I moved back to Texas in 2001. My asthma was out of control for years but has been under control virtually the entire time I have been on advair. I haven't ever asked to change drugs becasue I've never needed to.
