I started taking Lexapro when I was a sophomore in high school after I was finally diagnosed with an anxiety disorder after years of daily symptoms including a fluttery stomach, racing nervous thoughts, uncomfortably noticeable heartbeat, etc. and also occasional panic attacks. I take it whenever I have cramps from my period and it takes away the pain in about 20-30 minutes! I feel better after taking it because I have no pain and I can concentrate more on what I'm doing rather than how I am feeling.
