I was prescribed dexamethasone for severe inflammation in my tonsils when I had mononucleosis. I was unable to swallow and had difficulty breathing due to my enlarged tonsils, but the dexamethosone improved the swelling significantly very quickly. It made me very hungry, but I had also lost a lot of weight from my illness, so this side effect was not bad for me. The results of the treatment have been outstanding! Although in the past few days side effects have appeared...Allergic Reaction. However, I am in contact with my medical doctor and hope to have a decision as to how to proceed.
