I began with Effexor a few years ago. It worked wonderfully at first, and then I experienced severe side effects. I switched to Cymbalta with great success without the side effects. It's my favorite! Non-addictive, no side effects and it always makes me feel better the longer I'm on it. It's the best anti-depressant, anxiety help I could ever think of. Plus, I think it made me lose extra weight. I like NOW brand, not very expensive. It has gotten me through the last two winters with minimal seasonal affective disorder symptoms.

This medicine potentially saved my life. After several years of periodic panic attacks, I awoke to a suicidal panic attack whereupon my heart and body were racing and my mind was telling me that I HAD to kill myself. phenergan was terrible. Had it only once while in the hospital and took 2 hours to resolve severe side effects despite treatment for side effects.

Pristiq is a terrible drug. It made me feel like I was on an upper. I had more anxiety with it than without it. DO NOT stop this drug cold turkey. LIke with Effexor, you will have terrible discontinuation effects, including brain zaps.
