I used to take Claritin before it was over-the-counter (after which it failed to work for me) and I also tried Zyrtec, which never really worked for me. Out of all of the allergy medications I've used, Allegra appears to be most effective for my seasonal allergies although it is not quite as effective for my animal allergies.

I tried Seasonique once I started being sexuially active again. The first month I developed a yeast infection, which is normal for me when I begin a new BC,then after 4 weeks I began spotting and breakthrough bleeding and this lasted for 2mths, finally I spoke to my OBGYN(who is a wonderful and amazing doctor) and he suggested that I stop that pack and start a new one(which he provided). Ortho-tricyclen has prevented pregnancy. However, part of the reason I started taking it was to clear up acne and regulate my menstrual cycle. I still have mild acne, and I still have slightly irregular periods.
